About Us
I am Paula Collins, a Virginia-born native. We are a small, faith-based, family-run program, located in beautiful, rural, Louisa County, Virginia. Above all else we strive to honor God in all we do. Operating our program with honesty and integrity is of utmost importance at Collins Quality Canines, LLC. Together, we are seeking to preserve the high quality of West German Showline GSDs. Meeting the needs of our customers and providing an exceptional puppy buying experience is very important to us. Finally, we are dedicated, responsible breeders who encourage all prospective puppy owners to do their research and be prepared with questions to ask the breeder. Make sure you are not only choosing the right breed for you, but also that you’re getting it from the right individual(s).
Canines
Our dogs are West German Showline, proudly bred in the USA. As such they each have beautiful, full, long, black and red coats; making them ideal candidates for showing. In addition, they have great temperaments and are highly intelligent! This makes them the perfect choice for service, companion, therapy, and family pets as well. Every canine in our program is AKC registered. Our GSDs have each had medical, genetic, and orthopedic testing prior to breeding. These quality canines are raised in newly constructed indoor/outdoor, climate-controlled kennels. However, puppies are whelped and live in our home. Our dogs are well-loved, cared for, and considered an extension of our family to yours.

what is West German Showline?
West German Show Line GSDs are a happy medium between working line GSDs and North American Show Line GSDs. They tend to be of larger structure (bone thickness, breadth of head and height), than working line GSDs and generally carry the well-known black and red colorations. They are known for being very handsome! Their bodies and faces are more sculpted, and there is a lot of care taken to breed strong, proportional dogs.
West German Show Line GSDs aren't just bred to be attractive, as they do conform to all of the standards of the breed. They are medium to large-sized dogs. The breed standard height at the withers is 60–65 cm (24–26 in) for males, and 55–60 cm (22–24 in) for females. German Shepherds are longer than they are tall, with an ideal proportion of 10 to 81⁄2.
